MY REIKI JOURNEY

When I started my formal Reiki training in October 2017, many of my close family and friends were confused. They didn’t understand “where” this was coming from. What I had kept quiet for years and stuffed away was this burning knowledge, that I was meant to do more with my life.

I was 7 when my Grandma; Super Gran as she was affectionally referred to by us kids; taught me to use the energy in my hands to help with my growing pains. She eventually became tired of coming over and decided to teach me to help myself was a better idea.

Once I mastered this new skill, it quickly became that “thing” I did for friends at sleepovers that would put them all to sleep. My teen years were a blur of drugs and rebellion against my parents. Moving away at the age of 16 cause I thought I “knew” what was best for me. A Mother by the time I was 23 and the knowledge of energy work had been pushed so far back in my memory it wasn’t even a faint thought anymore.

Fast forward to 2017…

I had quietly been looking at things like crystals (we always had “rocks” in the house as a kid), tarot, and moon cycles. One weekend my closest friend and I decided that we would go for a quick overnight backpack hike into a waterfall and try putting into practice some of the things I had been learning. We never made it to that camp spot that night. Instead, we were graced with the presence of a large male Grizzly bear. This experience would change the course of my life drastically.

The Bear was in September 2017, and by October I was taking my Usui Reiki Level 1 & 2 training. I started taking time for myself. To gather with other women, to heal old wounds I had buried deep within. I continued my education and over the last 3 years I have become a Certified Crystal Healer, Akashic Record reader, and soon be a Reiki Teacher and Meditation teacher.

I will be forever grateful for that Grizzly Bear who decided to show up and remind me who I was on the inside. Never apologize for doing the things that make your heart sing.

I love what I do now and who I am becoming.
